Playing Catch Up {Part II}

Okay. So this school year has still be incredibly busy. We have been so caught up in learning and art making that very little time has been devoted to blogging! I apologize for my internet absence, but classroom stuff is top priority!

Anyways, last Thursday was the last day of the second 9 weeks and I wanted to say "fairwell!" to an amazing group of students and some very talented artists and creative actors!

Posterized Celebrity Portraits {7th Grade - 2D}

During the previous 9 weeks, the seventh graders completed some VERY impressive portraits of their favorite celebrities. I was not only impressed by the level of involvement and craftsmanship, but also the range of idols chosen.

Bill Murray, Jim Carrey, Russel Brand, Bernie Mac, and Adam Sandler represented the comedians. David Tennant and Harrison Ford for our Sci-Fi fans. Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson for the Hunger Games fanatics. Plus a lot of other musicians, athletes, and programmers.

Weekly Recap {11/21/2012 - Happy Thanksgiving!}

7th grade art classes are wrapping up their celebrity grid paintings in 2D & ceramic coil mugs in 3D. This shortened week put a crunch on time, but everyone did a good job taking on the challenge! I'm impressed at all the hard work and talent these classes displayed.

{I just got the new iPhone 5 and I've been experimenting with the camera. As you can see, the panorama option does a wonderful job at capturing a focused art class!}

For everyone that will be traveling, whether it be across the street or across the country. Travel safe, take car, and have a happy Thanksgiving!
