The Other Half (Intro to Art Drawing Assignment)

Students chose half of an animal photo, and worked on recreating the other half in pencil using a line, implied texture, and a full range of value. They did a good job recreating the images!

Art I - Visiting Artist, Maritza Lugo

We were lucky enough to have visiting artist and illustrator, Maritza Lugo, stop into the classroom and talk a little about having a career in the art world.

She offered us insight into how to become better at art (keep practicing!) and let us know that it takes hard work and dedication, but it is definitely possible to have a job in the arts.
